THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE OF SMARTPHONES

THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE OF SMARTPHONES

Most people, particularly marketers, are aware that mobile devices have grown in importance in recent years. We've come a long way since the first mobile phones, which were literally bricks, and as technology progressed, phones not only became smaller, lighter, and faster, but they also added more and more value to our lives. Today's mobile devices have integrated many of our other daily tasks, including maps, calendars, contacts, and even your wallet. And, as mobile technology has evolved, it has created new opportunities for marketers looking to engage with their audiences in novel ways.
The smartphone has become one of the most important devices in the world. There are numerous companies, varieties, and shapes of smartphones. In addition, the smartphone used to have a smaller screen, less computing power, and was quite bulky. This was the birth of the smartphone. Samsung and Apple are currently the leading smartphone manufacturers. Many new companies are also entering the market, including One Plus, Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo.

Smartphones have been trying to get stronger, more waterproof, have a larger screen, and just be better since their inception. Smartphones are getting bigger screens and better screen-to-body ratios at the moment. What will the future hold if we know the current state of smartphones?
Companies like Samsung are creating foldable screens for phones so the phones themselves can fold. Companies like Oppo and Vivo are improving the screen-to-body ratio. They have built smartphones with pop-up front-facing cameras so that they can have an all-screen phone. In the future, we can expect the phones to have a full screen and the phones may be clear. A company named polytron has created a clear smartphone prototype. The phones may also have advanced biometrics. Currently, you can use your face and fingerprints to unlock your phone but, in the future, you may be able to unlock your phone with your eyes.
Apple's flagships for 2018 are the iPhone XS and XS Max. These phones are attempting to achieve a higher screen-to-body ratio while still having a notch and very little bezel. The Vivo and Oppo flagships have a full screen, and the front-facing camera pops up from within the phone, creating an immersive experience. The S9 and Note 9 from Samsung are essentially upgrades to the previous version.

Phones may also evolve into wearable devices in addition to phones. We may be able to create a wearable that transforms into a smartphone using foldable display technology. Smartphones are also getting projectors. Moto Mods, which are attachable projector mods for smartphones such as the Moto Z, are available.

Smartphones are currently one of the most important tools that we use. We use them for work, play, school, and other purposes. They have been improving and will continue to do so in the coming days. That is something I am looking forward to. I always say that if I could time travel to the future, I would buy the new phone that year. So, how do you see the future of smartphones, and what do you think about the past and present?
